WHITE PATTANI SUNDAL /THENGA MANGA PATTANI SUNDAL


INGREDIENTS:
I.  White peas - 1 cup
2.  Grated raw mango
3.  Green chilly - 1
4.  Ginger - 1 pinch
5.  Salt to taste
6.  Lemon juice - 1 teaspoon
7.  Oil - 1 teaspoon
8.  Mustard seeds - 1 pinch
9.  Cumin seeds - 4
10.Split urad dal - 1 teaspoon
11.Asafoetida / perungayam - 1 pinch
12.Curry leaves
13.Grated coconut handfull
  
METHOD:
1.  Soak the peas in water for 4 hours.  Pressure cook them with some salt and keep them aside.

2.  Now heat a fry pan with oil.  Add mustard and when it splutters add cumin, urad dhal, asafoetida, curry leaves, green chilly and ginger.

3.  Add boiled white peas.

4.  Finally add the grated coconut and grated mango.

5.  Pour in the lemon juice to get some tangy taste

PEANUT SUNDAL / SUNDAL



INGREDIENTS:
1.  Peanuts - 1/4 kg
2.  Grated coconut - 1/4 cup
3.  Oil - 1 tablespoon
4.  Mustard - 1 pinch
5.  Perungayam/asafoetida - 1 pinch
6.  Red chillies - 4
7.  Curry leaves

METHOD:
1.   Soak peanuts in water for 2 hours,  drain the water and pressure cook with salt for 3 whistles.

2.  Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, when mustard splutters, add perungayam, red chillies and curry leaves, then add cooked peanuts.

3.   Add grated coconut. Mix well and remove from flame.

SUNDAL/ SUNDAL RECIPE


INGREDIENTS:
1.  Channa / kondakadalai - 1/2 cup
2.  Mustard - 1 teaspoon
3. Cooking oil - 2 teaspoon
4.  Urad dal / ulutham paruppu - 1 teaspoon
5.  Red chilly - 2
6.  Asafoetida (perungayam) - 1 pinch
7.  Curry leaves
8.  Coconut scrape hand full
9.  Salt to taste
10. Raw mango hand full

METHOD:
1.  Soak the channa in water for 1 hour.
2.  Pressure cook with salt and water in a cooker.
3.  Now place a kadai on flame pour some oil and when they gets hot add mustard, urad dal, asafoetida, curry leaves, red chilly and scraped mango and fry them well in oil.


4.  Add the sundal and fry them in oil for 2 mins and add the scraped coconut and some salt to taste.
