BROWN SUNDAL / KONDA KADALAI SUNDAL


INGREDIENTS:
1.  Brown channa - 1 cup
2.  Grated coconut hand full
3.  Green chilly - 1
4.  Ginger - 1 pinch
5.  Curry leaves
6.  Turmeric powder - 1 pinch
7.  Salt to taste
8.  Oil - 2 tablespoon
9.  Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
10. Urad dal - 1 teaspoon
11.Red chilly - 1
12.Asafoetida / perungayam - 1 pinch

METHOD:
1. Soak the sundal for 4 hours.  Pressure cook the channa with salt and turmeric powder.

2. In a kadai, heat oil, add the mustard seeds, urad dal and red chilly.

3. When it splutters add the curry leaves and perungayam powder.

4. Mix the brown channa in it and saute well.

5. Crush the grated coconut, green chillly in mixer and add to the above mix.

6. Saute for a minute and transfer to a bowl.

Neivedyam is ready.
